An Evening of Wonder
The City of Pickering is a rich and diverse community full of wonder and achievement. Join Mayor of Pickering, Dave Ryan and his wife Anne at the sixth annual Mayor's Gala - themed 'An Arabian Night' to highlight all that makes our community such an exhilarating and adventurous tale. There will be hundreds of community and corporate leaders from across Durham Region, gourmet food, a marketplace second to none, and live entertainment that will awaken you to a whole new world.
The funds raised during this extraordinary evening will go directly back to the community to support those who need it the most. There is no magic lantern to rub or a mystical genie to make things happen. Rather, it is the very real support of individuals and organizations like yours that can make wishes come true for our charities.
The 2010 Mayor's Gala will assist three of the community’s busiest groups. The Alzheimer Society of Durham will receive monies to help deliver much needed support and services to its 2,100 plus clients and caregivers in Pickering. The Grandview Children’s Foundation will continue to fund special programs, services and equipment, all of which help give Grandview Kids the opportunity to dream, learn, succeed and belong because of the event. Finally the Rouge Valley Ajax-Pickering hospital - one of the community's most valued assets – will receive funds to help kick off its multi-million dollar MRI fundraising campaign.
