Leading the way: The DRPS Pipes and Drums…
The Durham Regional Police Pipes and Drums was formed in 1996 under the direction of Pipe Major George Campbell. The band wears the MacBeth tartan commemorating Jon MacBeth Jenkins, first Chief of the Durham Regional Police Service.

Most band members are civilian volunteers. They serve as ambassadors and represent the Service with pride wherever performing; be that at a formal Police ceremony, local parade or pipe band competition. This group travels across the Province to compete at various highland games. Their mission is to represent and help foster the hard work and dedication characteristic of the Service.

The voice of youth… We are delighted to present the Young Singers with Robert Pilon as part of tonight’s program. Young Singers is a dynamic community children's choral program founded and directed by Anna Lynn Murphy, and accompanied by Lois Craig. This program provides children the opportunity to combine the discipline of learning with the joy of singing, and the art of performing. These award winning singers have become known as the choral ambassadors for the Durham Region, travelling to England, the Maritimes, British Columbia, throughout Ontario, and were featured performers at the Millennium Celebrations on Parliament Hill.

Robert Pilon has established himself as a rising member of Canada's recording industry, receiving accolades from the critics, fellow artists and the public alike. Having released two CDs he also has starred in his own television special, appeared as a guest on numerous other TV specials and performed in theatre and on stage with many well-known international artists.

For your dancing pleasure…MC & Company
‘MC & Company’ will have us dancing the night away with their versatile repertoire, which runs the musical gamut from Sinatra favourites to high-energy dance classics to sultry Rhythm and Blues and current selections. MC & Company exudes a youthful vitality that is conveyed in their live performances and gives a new and fresh meaning to the expression “What is Hip!” The group has performed for a multitude of functions and we are thrilled to have them with us tonight.
