The Pickering Mayor’s Gala is going strong, now in its third year and it’s promising more of what you have come to expect – a chance to celebrate the best of Pickering; raise money for important services in our community and enjoy a great night of entertainment.

This year’s theme, Rock ‘n’ Roll with a Touch of Class combines the black tie ambience of past years with a new twist… a rock n roll twist that is, that will take you back to the formals of days gone by with music by rock legends.

In the past two years, the Pickering Mayor’s Gala has raised about a quarter of a million dollars for local charities and organizations including the Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital; the Durham West Arts Centre and Veteran’s causes.

This year, once again, a large portion of the proceeds will go to our community hospital. And in keeping with our theme, the remainder will be used to support youth activities in west Durham. The Youth Centre and Big Brothers and Sisters of Ajax-Pickering are two of the organizations that will share in proceeds, and a reserve will be distributed to other Youth Groups in Pickering..

So, join us for a night to remember. Grab your best girl or guy and come rock and schmooze the night away to support the hospital and Pickering’s future – our youth.
